Initiatic Teaching - the higher you seek to rise, the more you must demand of yourself
Those who approach Initiatic Teaching seeking to gain knowledge that will give them power, money and glory, expose themselves to grave danger. They do not realize that they are playing sorcerer’s apprentice with the powers of the soul and the spirit, and that it doing so, they will unleash formidable forces within their own body, forces they will soon no longer be able to control. There have been many cases in history of people who dabbled in the occult sciences and who, to everyone’s astonishment, came to a very bad end. For years these people portrayed an image of wisdom and spirituality, spending all their time in study, thought and meditation. Then one day, as though an uncontrollable force had suddenly taken hold of them, they engaged in senseless acts of debauchery and violence. The few successes they had achieved had made them lose their mind. They should have known, however, that the higher you seek to elevate yourself, the more you must demand of yourself, becoming yet more selfless and humble.
